German freight technology startup Conlio has raised €6.4 million to expand its AI-powered financial operations platform across Europe. The round was led by Piton Capital, with participation from Haufe Group Ventures and logistics groups WaVe-X, part of WALTER GROUP, and F-LOG Ventures, the investment fund of FIEGE. Existing investors System. One, Puzzle Ventures, Booom Ventures and Yellow also joined. Conlio said it has raised €6.4 million to date.

Founded in Berlin in 2023 by Dr Claudio Consul, the company helps road freight forwarders process financial workflows by converting freight documents into verified data. Its AI reads and checks documents such as CMRs, proof-of-delivery records and carrier invoices, then supports tasks including carrier payments and customer invoicing.

Freight documents can arrive in different formats and languages, include handwritten notes and require checks against shipment-specific rules. Conlio says its system can automate more than 90% of document checks, helping reduce manual processing costs, identify overpayments and speed up invoicing.

Founder and CEO Consul said the company aims to address the operational complexity behind freight documentation, settlement and payments. He added that verified freight documents are the starting point for its longer-term ambition to change how money moves through supply chains.

Piton Capital investor Michael Macklin said Conlio’s product is already part of customers’ daily operations. WaVe-X Managing Director Thomas Muscher said the company’s experience in European road transport could help Conlio as it expands across the region.
