Germany’s job market offers limited prospects for people seeking work, with the number of listings on Indeed 37% lower than in November 2022, shortly before ChatGPT was released. Yet companies increasingly want AI skills across a growing range of roles.
Handelsblatt reviewed data from technology analysis firm Interface and job platform Indeed to identify where AI expertise could give applicants an advantage. The findings point to demand not only for AI researchers and developers, but also for workers trained to use AI tools.
Germany’s federal AI strategy also calls for expanding these skills in selected industries. For jobseekers, developing relevant AI capabilities may therefore help them stand out in a more competitive market.
