Friedrich Merz said that legislation intended to prevent expropriations is nearly finished, according to a German political news roundup.
The roundup also says the Social Democratic Party (SPD) announced its opposition to a fuel-price cap proposed by Reiche. It reports that the Alternative for Germany (AfD) rejects Ukraine’s membership of both the European Union and NATO.
Merz also expressed support for a woman becoming Germany’s next federal president.
