London-based AI learning startup Mindmax has raised £2.5m in a funding round backed by Concept Ventures and Helsing cofounder and CEO Torsten Reil. The company was founded by Ed Cooke, who previously co-founded language-learning platform Memrise.

Mindmax aims to use AI to help people develop their cognitive abilities, rather than rely on the technology to carry out their thinking for them. The company’s approach centres on learning and mental skills, according to the information available about the startup.

The funding will support Mindmax’s development as it works on its AI learning platform. Concept Ventures also participated in the round.
