Fresenius has raised its full-year outlook after stronger business at hospital subsidiary Helios and pharmaceuticals division Kabi boosted results. The company now expects currency-adjusted growth in core earnings per share to land in the upper half of its forecast range of 10% to 15%.

The group also expects its EBIT margin to exceed 11.5%, compared with its previous forecast of around 11.5%. Fresenius said revenue rose 6% to €5.8 billion in the latest quarter, while operating profit increased 11% to €638 million. That exceeded the average analyst estimate of €618.5 million.

Chief executive Michael Sen said the company had strengthened its core business and financial position. The improved outlook follows growth at both Helios and Kabi, according to Fresenius.
