Former Glovo employees have founded 35 startups with a combined estimated value of €461 million, according to research presented around the company’s fourth annual Startup Campus in Barcelona. The three-day event at Glovo’s Yellow Park headquarters hosted 19 startups and 33 founders and team members for mentoring, networking and pitching.

The research, produced by Delivery Hero and startup data platform Dealroom.co, identified 150 startups founded by alumni of Delivery Hero’s European brands, with a combined estimated value of €7.5 billion. It ranked Delivery Hero as Europe’s largest “founder factory” by the number of startups created by former employees, ahead of companies including Klarna, Zalando and Spotify. Glovo accounted for 35 of the businesses identified.

Startup Campus offers early-stage companies access to industry expertise, potential investors and strategic partnerships. This year’s programme included workshops, masterclasses and mentoring led by technology experts, including Glovo co-founders Oscar Pierre and Sacha Michaud. Endeavor Spain, ACCIÓ and the Polish Development Fund supported the programme.

Romanian assistive technology company .lumen won the final pitch competition with AI-powered navigation glasses designed to help people with visual impairments move independently. Portugal’s Granter placed second and Spain’s Bleecker Technologies came third. The three winners will receive continued mentorship and strategic guidance from Michaud.

The 19 participating startups worked across fields including AI, e-commerce, logistics, FinTech and sustainability. Since launching in 2023, Glovo Startup Campus has hosted 53 startups and held more than 20 local Power Up competitions. Glovo says its wider programme has reached more than 1,000 people.
